Do businesses really do any good to the society?

Think of a business that was started to do good for the people in society.

Can you come up with at least 3 names that are in the business of doing good?

Was it very hard?

I agree.

But how do businesses survive if they aren’t doing any good to the people around them?

Is it because people are blind?

Or those who run these businesses are too smart?

No matter what the reasons are, they might appear to have lived in the short run.

In time, companies that don’t put people first not just die down but will be considered bad role models.

At best they live through case studies and not as entities themselves.

Social Benefits linked to Business Strategy

The only way a business can succeed in the long run is to link its strategy to social benefits, especially in the markets the company operate.

Unfortunately, in “capitalistic” conversations, it is often said a business cannot exist without prioritizing profits above everything else.

The more we accept this ideology and repeat it in our minds, the more difficult it is to have businesses that do good for society.

Businesses need to go beyond the interest of their companies to the communities they serve.
